Here’s how I used these steps to transition out of teaching in under 6 months
My Transformation Story
During and after the pandemic, I was so stressed out that my hair was falling out and I had a prescription for Xanax. I cried a lot. And I knew that it would break my heart, but I had to leave teaching.
I spent well over a thousand hours applying to roles, creating dozens of resumes, and searching for help with my teacher transition. There wasn’t any; I was on my own. And I was only getting ghosted with all those applications I’d sent out.
This guide is a result of all the hours I put into my career change. I’m sharing everything I’ve learned and put it in one place so you don’t have to spend the time and tears that I did.
I began systematically tweaking resumes, keywords, searches and more like a mad scientist. I found out what worked and my resume started getting eyeballs on it. Calls and interviews started rolling in.
After less than six months of applying using my system of tweaks, keywords and application hacks, I had several job offers and actually had to decide which transition I was going to make! It was finally happening…I was transitioning out of the classroom.
Since then, I’ve been able to work flexibly, increase my salary, and spend quality, stress-free time with my husband and daughter. I’ve found hobbies I’m passionate in that I hadn’t done in years while teaching because I was too tired. I wake up excited and eager to dive into my work.
This guide is here today because I have the time and passion to create it for you, and that wouldn’t have happened without my own career change. I want to give back; I want to help everyone who feels like I did to make the transition and start loving life again.
