The Spark of Opportunity

I left teaching in March of 2023, well before the school year ended (yes, you can do this!). I’d found a job that gave me freedom to make my own schedule, make more money, and remove the stress and burdens of public education.

The Road to happiness

My journey was anything but easy. I had applied to well over 500 jobs in about a year’s time span. Most I never heard back from. The few that I did paid too little or required too many hours, and after all the unpaid hours that go along with teaching, I wasn’t willing.

During that year, I also realized how frustrating it is to leave your future (employment, income, work-life balance) up to others.

So while seeking a new line of work, I also began building my way to freedom: creating things that could make me money with no boss attached.

Turning Passion into Prosperity

Years have passed since those initial, uncertain days, and the dream that once seemed distant is now my reality. I contract with some educational companies that I love, and work only the hours and days that suit me. I run two of my own businesses, building income that isn’t tied to another company or another boss but only myself.
